What is motivation

Nominal motivation comes from the nominal motive - something like need or desire that makes a person act. Motivation can be defined as “the stimulation of any emotions or desires that affect one's own will and encourage or drive it to act”. It initiates, directs and maintains goal-oriented behavior. It gets people to act - whether it's turning off television or changing career paths. In fact, motivation is the driving force behind what we do. In other words, it can stimulate a person and force them to act in a certain way.

Motivation vs. inspiration

There are different types of motivation. Positive motivation is based on rewards. For example, in a workplace, employees can work hard if they are incentivized. We also call this type of motivation incentive motivation. The other type of motivation is negative motivation. Negative motivation is based on fear or violence. Fear of something leads people to behave in a certain way. For example, in an office, employees can achieve their goals because they are afraid of being fired or demoted. It's also important to know that motivation is often short-term.

What is inspiration

Inspiration is the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially doing something artistic and creative. Inspiration usually comes from within you. It stimulates the mind and stimulates the body to act. When inspired, you will willingly and naturally do what needs to be done. There is no need for any outside force to compel you.
